This is my first post to these forums. I am not sure if this question belongs here or in Hardware, as it is about new hardware and the pre-installed OS. This seems like the better forum for it though.

I have decided that I am going to order an Acer Ferrari notebook from Newegg. Several of the comments on Newegg indicated that those buyers didn't feel the pre-installed OS was setup in an optimal configuration. I would like to know if I should be considering re-installing XP prod when mine arrives. I was already planning on redoing the partions.

    Thanks in advance.

Some makers put a lot of junk on there you don't want. A fresh install will cure that. Unless you are in a heavily networked environment, I doubt you'll see much of a bennefit from Pro.
