    Hey there hope Im in the right forum. Is it me or when i have 8 gigs of ram in a machine running windows 10 ram percent idle maybe running chrome would hit 30-40 %, put in 16 gb ram and same thing running virtually identical setting, again 30-40% ram utilization. After that i put in 32gb , then after a day or so was back up to 27-40 % running same programs on a fairly fresh install, no viruses or anything. wtf?

    The more RAM you have, the more Windows will use for caching to improve the load of other programs/system files/etc (AKA Super Fetch)

    If that's a problem you could disable superfetch from the Services window. Personally I always disable it since I need most of my ram to be available for my work.

    It caches stuff using unused space which is good, and it will give up the space when needed. Simply having all that RAM unused when not needed by the user/apps can be a waste itself right?

    No harm in disabling it but just read through what it does first as in the link Spartan gave, it makes sense to disable for some use cases but for most users I’d say leave it alone.

    Also note that Chrome can eat a lot of memory at times as it uses separate threads for each tab and add on, in order to prevent any one addon/tab crashing from bringing down the whole browser.

    Yeah i hate looking at 14 chrome.exe's in my task manager like i know its gotta be doing something i dont want it to hahaha!
