    I have a abit motherboard

    (more specifcations) the motherboard said it supports 8gb but i am going to use 32 bit. My question is will be able to use 3 gb (by any luck 4gb since it says it supports 8gb or would i need to use an os that supports 64bit)? I will use windows vista ultimate also i have an intel e6750 2.66 ghz.

    You will need a 64 bit processor in order to use 4gb or more ram.

    As McGrady says, you will need a 64-bit OS. You can have 4GB though, you just won't be able to actually use 4GB...
