    Hi all...

I got a free upgrade from Vista Home Premium when I purchased my husbands' laptop in December. We aren't planning on using it, due to the not-so-good reviews it's gotten and we are familiar with XP.

My question is this....Since we aren't going to use it, my husband suggested selling it on ebay, BUT since it's an upgrade, I wasn't sure if the service tag is tied specifically to and only for his computer. Does anyone know?? Will it work for someone else??

Unless you think we should give Vista a whirl. I'm willing to try it, especially since I would NEVER spend $400 on it myself. But, am also willing to sell it. =)

    Thanks!

It will be an OEM version of the software that is legally tied to your computer. I'd keep the disc around until Vista is more stable (it is pretty good now but it needs some buffing)...SP1.

$400 is only if you purchase the retail version of Vista Ultimate. A majority of people will be more than happy with Home Premium as many Ultimate features probably will not be so useful.
