I just bought an Acer and it has an express upgrade to Vista Home when Vista comes out. I was wondering if it is better to use this to get Vista Home or just buy Vista Business edition. What are the major differences between the two? I am not in business, but itÂ’s the same thing with XP Home and Pro, if you know what I mean. Thanks for all your help.

You would be stupid to spend any extra money for Vista. Get Home Premium - it has the Aero interface. This will be the last successful MS Operating system. Did I say successful, I meant pitful!

Unless you are joining an AD domain there is no point in getting Vista Business. Vista Home Premium is what you want.

I'm running Vista RTM and it kicks butt. Heck I'm missing drivers for a couple things and it still kicks butt.

Vista Home is enough for your needs. Business is too expensive.

Okay so, home is all I need to get, for now. How long will it be until Microsoft starts to lower the price of Vista Ultimate? Cause it seems that is the one to get.

I would wait several months after they release it to actually pay for it. Gives old M$ some time to work out all the bugs that will most likely be in it at the time of initial release.
