    Just got aspire 5050 i have a desktop with xp and after a bit with vista on my laptop i was like screw this and put the xp from my desktoip to my laptop...now my question is do i have to buy another xp for my desktop now or is it ok to use the xp from the same disk? Question might sound poorly asked so jhust tell me the abilitys of useing 1 xp disk on more then one system ty

    You'll need a new version of XP for your desktop. Also I would think you would run into difficulty running Windows updates using the same licence key on two different machines.

    there may be problems with licensing, it seems that sometimes XP can be installed on more than one machine (which is when retail version has more than 1 license), whereas some people say that normally it won't be activated..

    so i might be lucky and have one of those cuase my desktop was registered with the same one then i did it to my moms comp didnt register tho and now registered on my laptop so idk ill try see what happens.

    Just because you can register the product, does not mean it is a legal installation. The EULA "clearly" :rolleyes: states that you can only install and register the OS on one computer at a time. The exception, of course, is when you have a multiple user license or more than one license key.
