I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T400s. It came with XP, and at the time the brightness control was able to be changed from full bright, to screen on, but backlight off.

After upgrading (clean) to Win7 64, and getting everything working, my brightness control is half of what it was before. Specifically, the brightness only goes down to half of what XP could take it too.

I.e.: Under XP, I had 16 shades of backlight. Under Win7, I have 16 shades of backlight, but the range is half of the brightness as compared to XP.

I've searched for this issue; i've updated drivers; nothing works, nor does anyone have the same or similar solution. Most times people complain their FN keys dont work or they cant control brightness from they keyboard. This is not my problem. I simply cant control my backlight as I could under XP, before I wiped it.

    Ideas, experiences?

    Thanks,

    ~ V
