I'll find a youtube playlist - the speaker in the videos has a calm and easy voice to listen to/fall sleep

But he'll have a noticeably loud intro/loud ending song at the end of every video or a noticeably loud sound effects in the middle. The uneveness in the volume is problematic- it wakes me up/alarms me sometimes

If I could find a solution (aside from sticking to content with more even audio, which I do, but it limits the amount of content), it would be a huge game changer for me.

    1. What could be some solutions to this problem?

    2. What would be some ways, totally unrelated to the above, to have the audio become quiet after a set amount of time? When I finally do fall asleep, I find that my sleep is more restful if there is no noise. But a calm/easy to listen to speaker helps me first just get asleep to begin with

    Thanks!

    You know everything, Jon Snow

I'll try it out but if anyone knows of a easy GUI / pretty version of this without command prompt, I would still be interested

That doesn't really equalize, just sets a time for auto sound volume down or mute. I noticed this video but my speakers don't have that option listed:

I'd like to know this too, because my son likes to watch some YouTube videos at night as well to fall asleep, but same thing, it will be a constant db level then at the start and end it will just blare the intro/outro sound/music excessively louder than the rest.

playlist of ripped mp3's normalized with MP3GAIN
    http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

also if you haven't seen this, the notes/comments at least are useful:

also set volume equalization in windows sound device properties/enhancements
