    Hi all,

I have a bunch of DVDs that I would like to convert into either .AVI or .MKV. I've also got a couple of Blu-Rays that I'd like to do the same for.

Can someone please give me a few recommendations (preferably free ones :p ) for doing this? I've looked at Super and it doesn't seem to do the job. IMGBurn rips the discs into .ISOs, but I'd rather it be in AVI or MKV instead.

Thanks in advance for all your help :)

Might want to check out Handbrake and/or MakeMKV. Both freeware.

    Hi grim,

Thanks, +repped! I do have handbrake, but was not aware that it was able to rip to AVI or MKV - will take another look at it.

It'll rip to mkv, but not avi.

I use a different program (Movavi) for all my avi conversions, but it's not free.
