I've buyed a new laptop - Asus K55VM a week ago and i have a problem with windows , it just keeps restarting after a few seconds .I know that somehow i damaged my windows so it don't boot up again, but i dont want to reinstall the windows :( I've heard about a system recovery , but when i boot from my win 7 dvd and try to recover system to an earlier point , it asks me about choosing an windows installation to repair, and when i choose it it says that " This version of System recovery Options is not compatibile with the version of windows you are trying to repair.Try using the recovery disc that is compatibile ". And somebody told me about pressing F9 while booting , but it does nothing. Please help

Thank you :) , I have tried many times, but it says that it cant repair the problem. And yes, I have a dvd with a multiple choice of 32/64 ultimate/home/entreprise etc. And it is the same that i used to install a win on my laptop.

Is there a posibility to restore my windows to an earlier point like when you can do normally when laptop turn on and you choose it through a control panel ?

I have never tried this, system restore in safe mode - Microsoft Answers (NOTE if you have any data files you need on the K55 this may not be a good option). Also if you know what brand hard drive you have go the to the manuf. site a look for a tool that runs from USB or CD (outside windows) to verify the integrity of the drive.

go to >start>control panel>action centre>bottom right recovery restore to a earlier time.

does this not work as you dont need the disk for this option.
