    hey everybody,

When I try to boot into XP I get the following message:
"Windows could not start ecause of a computer disk hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from selected boot disk. Check boot path and Disk hardware.
Please check the windows documentation about hardware disk config and your hardware reference manuals for additional information"

I have tried to repair the installation but it asks for an administrator password and I never set one up, is there a default admin password that will work or some way to skip this step?
Does this mean that I need to reinstall windows, cuz I am really hoping not.

Weird I never saw that message. The correct or I should say easy way to create a Dual boot environment is to first install EasyBCD. Run it and add the new OS which modifies the bootloader to accept Vista. You will still see that message when trying to add the new OS.

At that point you repair the bootloader startup file. when you reboot it's business as usual and you be able to install and boot from either OS.
