    Guys, I need your help

Recently I have been having problems with the hibernate option. Whenever I select hibernate from the drop down menu, the screen goes blank and after around 30 secs of HD activity the system shuts down.
However, on retarting I get the error message about improper shutdown and get the options for safe mode etc.
I can continue booting into windows normally but I cannot resume my session.

My startup time is around 40 seconds( Dell logo to no activity and wifi connected ) . I have scanned my system with various anti virus and it's clean. The system is very responsive to use.
Sleep is working fine. Hybrid sleep is disabled
I have already recreated the hiberfil.sys file

I am out of ideas now

    Are you using Windows Vista?

I am using Vista and when I try to hibernate, my screen goes blank for a while too (no progress bar), but it will eventually hibernate. It does not shutdown like yours though...

I am using vista home premium. Till last week it used to hibernate properly, but now I get improper shutdown detected when I start the computer after hibernating.
Sleep works fine. Hybrid sleep doesn't work either.
