    My cursor on my Dell E1505 still keeps showing up a hour glass next to it like every 6 seconds and Ive uninstalled mcafee and liveupdate by symnetic...i want to ge treid the of theproblem...its getting annoying

    Windows update? My daughter's computer was doing it and it always wanted to reboot. I nixed that one.

    I've moved this to the software forum to see if you get better results.

    I would guess that it is probably some software running in the back ground. I would open up your task manager and watch it. Normally, you'll see a program have an increase in CPU/Memory when your mouse goes to an hour glass, and hopefully that will be the cause of it.

    Have you reformatted since getting your laptop?

    I have not because I didnt order the Media Version of XP when I bought the laptop

    it may be your HD indexing. try turning indexing off and see if it stops
