I have a Pavilion dv9000 with vista home edition 64 bit and a few days ago it began crashing on a regular basis. I have attempted to format it but keep getting a blue screen crash when attempting to load the vista setup off the disk.
When attempting to start in safe mode most of the time it freezes on crcdisk.sys
So basically I need to find a way to wipe the and get a fresh windows install.

can u check ur tempratures from bios , also try to disconnect any USB drives , my vista used to fail in booting while attaching my mp3 player , also i couldn;t format or use recovery disks while mp3 player connected,
can u load it from harddrive?, if not you can use paragon live CD to format C:/ ONLY ONLY , and then try to use ur recovery disks , -
Did you create, and if so, still have, the recovery CDs/DVDs?
