I have a Pavilion dv9000 with vista home edition 64 bit and a few days ago it began crashing on a regular basis. I have attempted to format it but keep getting a blue screen crash when attempting to load the vista setup off the disk.

When attempting to start in safe mode most of the time it freezes on crcdisk.sys

So basically I need to find a way to wipe the and get a fresh windows install.

Did you create, and if so, still have, the recovery CDs/DVDs?
