Ok.. so I got my new lenovo today..
I don't want to clean install (takes too much time)
but would it be possible to divide a drive w/o deleting the whole drive?
    So for example...
my C: is 137gb currently and I am using only 20gb

Would it be possible to keep that including the os drivers and everything
    and make C: 60 (including the 20gb I originally have) and D: 77gb?

    Thanks

Since it's new, I assume you have Vista. You can manage your partitions in Vista so you can free up some of the space for a second partition without having to reinstall. Unfortunately, Vista doesn't do it very well so you may only get 30 or 40GB if you're lucky.

Alternatively, you can use BootitNG. When my wife's laptop came as one big partition, I was able to change the 200+GB (a 250GB drive) partition down to a 50GB partition and the rest allocated as a new second partition.

I used Acronis, worked fine. Gparted seems to be better as a freeware. But I was too lazy to burn a CD :p
