Dude, thanks for the info. I hope everyone on this forum already would resort to google for questions. But actual input and discussion from a human being is something GOOGLE!! cannot do.

    Thanks

However Google is a better starting point so YOU can begin to winnow down the list of POS software out there and then ask a more specific set of questions. Or even ask about feedback on specific pieces of software you have located.

An open ended, no constraints, question like you asked doesn't really set any sort of context for us. There are all sorts of POS scenarios, but you didn't set the stage for your particular scenario. Do you need multiple terminals, credit card processing, first-in-first out inventory control, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, statements, cash register functionality? And that's just a small list of options.

Agreed. I use kbilling just for my very small business. Sounds like the OP is looking for something more.

Me too, work around military types so POS does apply to HP programs when you only want a print driver for a wireless printer.

    http://www.acess.ca/simply/pos.htm

adapts easily and can expand to multiple tills very easily.

I believe they can assist in setting up the Simply Accounting backend easily for US stores as well

Quickbooks as noted is a good suggestion; also consider setting up a custom MS Access database.

Sage North America sells some basic accounting software; look at their Peachtree line of products:
