I recently tried out using Opera after getting bored with Firefox. So far I love it, seems like a solid/professional browser. I really like the built-in email and such.

One problem I seem to have though, is scrolling webpages is very slow/laggy. I tried 9.64, and then also tried the 10 alpha, both are the same. Disabling smooth scrolling only made it worse.

Is there something else I can change? This is using the desktop in my signature. I really like the browser, but if I need to deal with this laggy scrolling, might go back to Firefox.

I actually think I might have fixed it by disabling "Show Scroll Marker". Will use it for a bit and see.

two important things you should add to Opera are:
    - an updated ad-block list and maybe together with the element hider style sheet
    - flashblocker

then all you have to do is to activate the mouse gestures, maybe speech input if you like, and customize your GUI with a nicer skin and a few useful buttons: http://operawiki.info/CustomButtons The button I like most is the button which toggles the menu bar on and off but adds the menu as a dropdown menu to the button itself.

It was an option under preferences. Seems to be fine now with it off. I don't know :/
