In the versions of *Office 2007*for Windows, launched on*January 30,*2007 it has a text to speech in its spreadsheet but not in its word processor, can anyone explain why you'd put a text to speech in a spreadsheet but not in a word processor?

I know when ever I write a letter or alike, even though I proof read and spell check it many times I miss something offend, but if I copy and paste it to spreadsheet I only have to hear it once to tell if there's something a miss.

There is an icon for text to speech in the customize tab of the word processor but it doesn't work, am I missing something, like how it needs to be activated?

    See if this works:

Click the Microsoft Office Button , and then click Word Options.
    Click Advanced.
Under General, select or clear the Provide feedback with sound check box.

Dude I removed the icon from the ribbon a while ago because it wasn't working and now I can't find it in all commands.
I looked in Spreadsheet and it's called speak cell so I looked alphabetically and can seem to find it in the S section like speak or speech and its not in the T for text to speech section either.
Have you got any idea where it might be because I got jack? I had to download a Office sounds patch from M/Soft and now I can't find it, that says it all, it's like my life's story, I can see the finish line but fate keeps moving the ******* furthered away! :realmad:

That did help, but not how you believed it would, because I was trying to get text to speech in word. (I got it working in Excel) And your URL had this in it: Text-to-speech is not available in Word yet, but you can turn it on in Excel. Since this page was published 7 months ago, I still got hope. Not that it matters that much other than simplify things, because there are free program,s like http://www.naturalreaders.com/ it's a pain in the butt all that cut and paste crap.

All you gotta do is type 'speech' in the help menu and it'll tell you how to activate it.

I don't see commands for converting text to speech
Text-to-speech features are included only in Microsoft Office Excel.

That was one of the results of the search when I typed speech!
