The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Odd Homepage Problem

    I have google.com set as my home page, however when I enter a search query and hit enter or the search button the page does not respond. However, if I use the search toolbar or any other search engine it works just fine. Anyone have any ideas?

    Sorry forgot to mention all that information, yes, google.com using FireFox, when I enter something in the search query and press enter the page bar loads and then clears and just stays on the same page.

    Are you using Internet Explorer? Some of their new "security features" don't play well with Google.

    and if you type in www.google.com, does it also occur?

    I had some pages that didn't like urls without the www. on it (never google though)
