Hi, I own a Toshiba notebook and I am looking for a way to see my processor temperature to control if is not overheating. Should I care about this or the computer itself will turn off when it reaches some dangerous limit?

I am a little bit worried because ocasionally I use the computer to play games and I can feel and hear how the fan speed becomes faster and the computer itself rises its temperature.

I tried to see if there was any option in BIOS for temperature control but I didnt find it. Perhaps there is a software for Win XP which has the ability to see the core temperature and things like that...

    Thanks.

Get freeware MobileMeter. Consider a USB powered laptop cooler base, they do work to help cool down hot laptop. especially the bottom side heat.

I tried with SpeedFan 4.22 also, and it seems only to read the hard drive temperature. I am a little bit surprised because I thought that Toshiba in its latest notebooks would include some software to see the temperature of the chip. Perhaps the internal hardware of my notebook does not support any temperature control access by software.

    Thanks anyway.
