    Hey Everyone!

I "won" a free copy of norton ghost 14 at my work today, and it seems perfect for what I had in mind. Basically, reformating windows, isntalling software, windows update, etc takes soooooooo long, so basically, i was thinking of after reformating, I installed all the software i wanted and windows updated, so the thing was clean. Then, I would take the image of the windows partition w/ the software and windows updated, so next time i just restore it back there so I don't have to go throught the trouble. Could someone link me to a guide or help me how to do this?

    Thanks!

P.S I'm running vista on an hp dv2000, so it has C: (main drive) and E (Recovery Drive). I only want to create an image of the C drive, and don't do anything to my E drive

    hey
I just did that as per angad's advice and it's pretty straight forward.I chose the whole computer to back up to DVD.The 5th DVD just got out and it's in verification stage :)

i hope it boots well....after win 2000....the end user was not allowed to play around with the system....i mean it is literally impossible to get the whole OS up and running to a previous working state with xp and vista through optical drives....it is more doable if one uses a large usb flash drive or a small portable hdd....!!
i am on the lookout for more guides on acronis and ghost now....
Rambo29 i forgot to recommend to use dvd+rw's....cause if things didnt go your way....u cud have re-used those dvds rather than making them coasters....

i have made the backup of my system using my old fujitsu 40gig hdd which i now use as an external drive....and luckily both my laptops support booting through usb media....

Acronis True Image is much much better than Norton Ghost but oh well, you got it for free so can't complain there
