Not sure if this has been posted, but you can get Norton Security, Partiton Magic and Norton Ghost 12 ( Vista compatible and full system restore capability) for $70. And if you are willing to do rebates all it costs you is shipping (around $7) and tax ($5 if applicable)

Yes, it's Fry's, but the rebates are from Symantec.

Even $70 for the bundle is a good deal without the rebates. I needed a Vista compatible backup software anyway for an external HDD and from what I read this is one of the best. It costs around $70 by itself.

Generally, I agree. I long ago abandoned Norton for anti-virus and spyware. It bogged won my system. I use free Adaware, Spywareblaster and AVG anti-virus. Fast, works great and free with little or no system slow down.

But I have heard that Norton has improved, so I'll try it. I mainly got this for the Norton Ghost. I could not find consumer or professional reviews that ranked another backup system higher (that was Vista compatible and does a full system backup including OS clone)

The Norton Security and Partition Magic are free compared to normal cost of Ghost, the rebates make the whole thing free except for shipping and taxes which you pay for anyway.

I am one of the few satisfied Norton customer here. My experience with NIS 2007 have been smooth so far.

If you would buy complete security suite (include backups) i think you should try Norton 360.

Kaspersky runs on my Windows machine, but I've read several different articles that say Norton 2007 is a much improved program - fast and light on system resources. Quite a change from past versions.
