Recently i noticed on my sister's computer that norton 360 is disabled. Upon restarting the laptop norton turned back on and i thought the problem was solved. But after a couple of minutes a notice from windows appeared saying that norton 360 was disabled. By disabled i mean auto protect is off. I'm guessing she has some type of bug because every time i restart norton proceeds to turn its self off. If it helps she has vista home premium and her computer is also not recognizing her dvd drive even though device manager says it has no problems (I know this is probably a different problem entirely but it might help). Any ideas of what the problem is and how i would go about fixing it?

    Hi Sleepy,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team replying to your post about Norton 360 and Auto-Protect. Do you have Norton 360 version 1 or 2 installed?

The next step is to manually run LiveUpdate to make sure that you have the latest application and definition updates applied.

    1. Click Start->All Programs->Norton 360, and then choose "LiveUpdate." LiveUpdate will automatically begin running. When it is complete, run it again.

Next, launch the main Norton 360 window, and if there is a "Fix" button, which notifies you of any problems with Norton 360, please click on that burton to resolve any problems that Norton 360 finds.

Please let me know if this resolves your issue.

    Thank you,
    Mike
