    Hi all:
I hope I am not double posting as I asked this in the HP section a couple of days ago with no meaningful responses.

I have a Presario CQ60-216DX with XP installed and all is working well except there is no sound when the laptop wakes from sleep. Everything else works just fine and if I reboot the sound returns.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the sound driver and uninstalling and letting Windows auto-install the drivers and still no go. See Device Manager:

    Thanks for your help.

Check for BIOS and audio driver updates first.

If you're current with those, try disabling and re-enabling the audio device(s) in device manager. If sound starts working again without a reboot, you could probably automate this procedure as a workaround (batch file calling devcon.exe, executed by something like HibernateTrigger or UnfortunateEvents when resuming from standby...).

    Hi,

I have the same issue with a CQ60-214dx that I recently reinstalled with XP. I noticed several posts regarding similar problems with XP and pre-SP3 and there is even a KB article - kb888111. I've tried uninstall-reinstall-windows update to update the audio drivers - but no luck so far. Please let me know if you find a solution for this issue.

    Thanks,

So far no luck. I believe the driver is up to date and so is the BIOS.
I did get the latest chipset driver and that was no help.
If any of the gurus out there want to take a crack at this just let me know.
If I come across the answer tp2007 I will let you know.
