    Hi Everyone!

I've just purchased a new ASUS VX2S and the first thing I need to do is get rid of Vista as I hate it and reinstall my XP Pro onto it.

My problem is a message saying no drive detected/recognised. I then found the SATA drivers but cannot install them as I have no floppy drive.

The Techs at ASUS said that the VX2S supports XP and they've emailed me all the associated drivers, however, they've not offered me a solution on how to get XP onto my machine.

Please please help, step by step instructions would be great, I know I'm not the first to want or do this, but I am completely baffled!

Any expertise or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

So, you put the XP installation CD into your CD drive and it gives you that error message?

If slipstreaming sounds like a hassle, try to disable the AHCI feature in your BIOS (if there is that feature available) and it will let you install XP without the SATA drivers.

Gone back to Vista, XP caused too many problems, VX2s doesn't like it!

    1. Download all your associated XP drivers and save to a usb drive or burn it.
    2. Insert XP installation disc and make sure it loads from the cd drive first
    3. Reformat the drive (not quickformat) and follow instructions.
    4. Once it finishes installing, reboot.
    5. Install drivers from your burned disc or usb drive
    6. Look at device manager for '!' mark (in yellow) for driver problems.
    7. Search for appropriate drivers.

    Good luck.
