I recently purchased a HP Pavillion dv6275 laptop with Vista Premium installed.
It also had a Vista upgrade CD in the box. Now is this to ad more programs or like a bonus
so if you have XP you can upgrade to Vista?

I believe HP ships a Vista Anytime upgrade DVD which allows you to do an in-place upgrade to your Vista system. Basically it is only useful to upgrade(for a price) your Vista Home Premium to Business or Ultimate without having to buy another full version DVD.

I believe it's probably just an XP->Vista upgrade DVD, because you can do Vista Anytime Upgrade over the net. Most files required for upgrade versions of Vista are included by default, they're just locked out by certain keys.

using that cd you can upgrade from XP to vista as mentioned or even do a clean install of vista..

But there are some combos of XP-vista upgrade which MS wont allow.. so be careful.. go thru this before upgrading (if at all u r!)
