Yep won't load in either. I can ping delldock.com just fine but it won't load. I can load the site just fine though by remoting into my server.

sorry for the noob question, but is there any way to get this for a non-Dell computer? I really like the idea of this program.

The same company who makes Dell Dock, Stardock, makes a very similar program called ObjectDock. ( http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/ ) In fact, on the Dell Dock site, it says that the underlying technology in ObjectDock is used to make Dell Dock happen. You should try it as it's quite a bit more flexible and powerful than Dell Dock-You can add skins, icon themes, widgets, etc. Even have tabbed docks if you buy the plus version. :)

As for running Dell Dock on your machine, I don't think it's possible. Some on here have reported that the installer checks certain files (people who know for sure: Does it check the BIOS somehow?) to see if your machine is a Dell. I would test it out on another machine, but I'm at Uni. so my Dell is my only computer right now.

out of curiosity, why would one download "Dell Dock" as opposed to "Objectdock"? The underlying technology is the same and objectdock is better featured, even in the free version

For me, I'm just a sucker for trying new things, even if they are only slightly different. Also Dell Dock groups program icons into categories dynamically. :D

I think Dell Dock has some of the paid version of Object Dock features, like categories.

I just tried this. It says to add shortcuts you can just drag it into the dock. It's not working. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

haha nevermind. I had to restart the dock.

Is it me or does dell dock which I really like have a memory leak, it'll start of at about 7meg showing in task manager and work its way up to about 20+meg you can sit there and watch it go up not that I am....
