The problem is can not find other computers in my home network. They are not listed in "My network places" and i can not connect to them even if I enter ip manually. I always get this error
    [IMG]
My computer is running Windows XP SP2 with all the updates and so are the other computers. All other computers can see each other and can share files and printers over network. Network connection is managed by router with DHCP.
Funny thing is that I can play games over network and I can even connect via "Remote desktop connection".

Ip in error screen is definitely the right one because if I write it on sisters computer it finds my other computer.

    Can anybody help me?

Has the laptop ever been able to see the other computers on the network? As in, did this just start today after a long period of everything working fine, or has the laptop never worked in this respect?

Can the other computers see the laptop in My network places? Can you ping the other computers on the network from the laptop? Does the laptop have Simple Sharing enabled?

An all purpose beginning might be to remove the network adaptor from device manager, let Windows reinstall it, then run the network setup wizard in Network Connections and see if you can reset the laptop back to working order. Now, if it has never worked, there might be another problem altogether. That's what all the questions are about.

When i install winxp and all the drivers it is able to connect but then after a few restarts and some programs installed it looses that. None of the programs installed are firewalls or any thing like that.

no computer in network can see it but I can ping it.
Is that Simple Sharing something that is enabled out of the box? I just right click on folder and I always tick option just enable sharing and that is it.

I will try to remove and reinstall network adapter.
