I want to know if my internet breaks / disconnects when I'm not at the computer (and hopefully for how long it was broken). Is there any software that will record this information?

Depending on your internet service you should be able to login to your router and get that info. What ISP and router/modem are you using?

Do you suspect that it does this? You can use the Performance Monitor under Administrative tools to monitor TCP/IP V4. Just right click in the graph and select "add counters", then highlight TCP/IP V4 and click the add button.

Will this also tell me if it's only my laptop wifi that disconnects?
Yeah my wifi sometimes disconnects, and even if I'm on wired my ISP doesn't have the most stable service. Thanks for the performance monitor suggestion, but I was hoping for something that will continue monitoring while minimized to tray and the performance monitor seems to only show information for the last 2 minutes.

I believe you can increase the duration, but only up to 1000 seconds (roughly 16 minutes).

I know Microsoft has a network monitoring tool, but I haven't used it personally, so I don't know if it meets what you're looking for.

There are these programs as well.
