I'm having a problem with my Dell laptop (XPS m1530) and connecting to a network. I'm 99% sure it's a Vista issue.

I have no trouble connecting to my home network. But recently I got a new desktop (G5 quad-core :D ) and when I was setting that up, that's when I ran across this problem.

I can't connect to any other network. My laptop is setup to automatically connect to my home network, but I disabled that to see if that would help, and it didn't. If I click on the "connect to a network" from either right-clicking the network icon on the bottom, or if I go into the Network & Sharing Center, nothing happens. If I bring up my WLAN card utility, I can see other networks, but I can't connect to them. I have Vista installed on another partition on my HD and it works fine, so I'm pretty sure something in my main Vista install is borked.

Drives me nuts that companies (like Dell) sell you a computer pre-loaded with an OS, but don't give you a copy of the OS DVD. So I have the Dell reinstall DVD, and I downloaded a copy of the Vista Recovery Utility, but that didn't help.

Is there any way to repair Vista? I'm trying to avoid wiping the HD and reinstalling Vista if I have to.
