I have about 6000 photo files in two folders. I need to organized them so I can go through and delete the crummy ones. When I open the big folders and delete a couple I have to wait a long time for Vista to refresh the folder view.

My thought is that if I could put them in folders, even just by year, it would reduce the photo quantity and wait time enough to make the process simpler.

I can't just use a photo viewer program to do it because I have many Panasonic .raw images as well and most photo viewers and Windows Photo Gallery can't view them.

Any ideas on a program that can "folderize" all of these images for me, I have just downloaded "free commander" to see if that will help me. I would appreciate any ideas.

    Thanks

How about just sorting them by date, and then moving the ones in particular date ranges into new folders?
