got a hp dv6152eu wanna reformat my laptop its been acting weird and has been lagging a bit so i wanna try and start with vista home premium.

i wanna get this but why is it so cheap? http://amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=139042391&pf_rd_i=468294

i have two options i can either:

repartition my hard drive so i have vista on one and xp on the other

    or

i just install over xp. have hp provided vista-compatible drivers?

I'm not sure exactly what's up with that; maybe it's just for manufacturers, but did you see this?

It's an OEM license. It's fine to use, as long as you understand that you don't get the usual support from Microsoft that you would with a retail copy, and once installed, it can't be moved to another computer, and it can't be sold except along with the computer it's installed on.

Before spending money though, you might want to see if you can restore XP... if there's a recovery partition or something.

Yes, the restore DVD's are capable of putting the system back to factory state. So, in case you want to go back to XP just boot off of the restore DVD and follow the prompts.

EDIT: By backup DVD;s you mean you burnt the recovery discs using HP' restore disc creator. If you just backedup the restore partition, then its of no use and makes things much harder to restore.
