Hi, is there a nice online back up service for ppl in UK? It needs to be able to store 2GB to 10GB data online and preferably needs to be free.

    Thanks.

Acrobat.com gives you a litte less than 5GB of storage - you could try reaing their terms and conditions to check whether you can have several acounts (don't think though)...

(not sure if you need to own Adobe software either for free access - and there's paid for too....)

I don't think you'll find anything for free that's much better than that.

There are quite a few paid backup services, including iDrive, KeepVault, iBackup, etc etc etc. Take a look at some of them.

or just store it to a usb stick :) your online backup doesn't give you any gains, except that you give your data into foreign hands and have no control over it anymore, just your believe in that company.

Well, there is a lot to be said for off-site backups. Plus, it's automated and a set and forget sort of thing. It's not for everyone, but since the OP asked about it...

sure. he got some nice suggestions, so i thought about some alternative, and reason for it.

and with alwaysync or goodsync or similar (allwaysync is free for small data amounts), synching to usb stick works set and forget sort of thing, too...

Other than a USB drive sticking out the side of my laptop, just begging to be broken off as I move around my house... ;)

Where did you get those???? Rather, where can I get those from? Some details on capacity etc. would be good too! It looks like my Nano mouse receiver, which never comes off my machine!

    Thanks
