    Hey all,

I'm in need of a calendar app for windows vista 32-bit that is free or very inexpensive. Basically what i want it to do:

    functions:
    1. allow me to fill in things i need to do for that day
    2. show me upcoming events
    3. remind me a certain amount of time before that there is an event

    objectives:
    1. be as light-weight as possible
    2. be as quick loading as possible
    3. consume as little of the system resources as possible

    constraints:
    1. cannot cost more than $10
    2. must be for windows
    3. does not connect to the internet
    4. is not a virus

thanks for any help. I really need something like this to help me with my time management.

would you accept a sidebar application? not only is it free, but it has all of the features that you asked for, and it really doesn't get anymore lightweight than a sidebar app.

the app I'm talking about is zCalendar. Plus it has a good customizable interface.

I looked at that, and it just shows me the current date and allows no option to add notes or anything.

    p.s
Ill check out the link, looks promising.

Rainlendar is quite good. Don't really use it much, but should have everything you need, including loads of skins :D

Try "Essential PIM" (free version available) or Mozilla Sunbird. Both Are great.

I did and I agree with Jakamo. The "Windows Calendar" application that is part of Vista will do everything that the OP asked for. I just opened it and I can create events for today or any other, the event has an alarm to remind me, I can show the calendar for just today, a week or a month.

If he wants is a task list, rather than a calendar to manage appointments, then it isn't what he wants.

Having said that, I use Thunderbird with the Lightning add-on for my calendar.

My bad, I thought you meant the calendar tool in vista sidebar. that thing is useless.

But windows calendar seems pretty alright aswell. Thanks all for the help.
