Well last month,my internet bill was more than 3 times of my plan,i exceeded my limit.I don't want to repeat it,can some body post me SOME RELIABLE + simple monitor software that keeps tracks of my data usage daily, weekly, monthly.I am running win 7 ultimate 32 bit.I have used networx, bandwidth monitor, net meter but all of them have not performed well(i don't know why).I want a software that will save my usage stats while shutting down/hibernating/whenever my net gets disconnected and continue after switching on my laptop. Please i am in a need of this software

I'm actually after the same, but it can be quite difficult to get this type of software. I've pretty much used the same as you. I just use our ISP's online account manager that has a download meter in it... Do you have multiple computers you need to monitor? or does your ISP offer similar?

Go to your isp's website, check your bandwidth ussage. No software installation and guaranteed accuracy.

Yeah. If they don't provide you with information of when you're approaching and going over your cap, sue the crap out of them. It's bait and switch otherwise.

Are you using a router? Or are you wired directly to the modem? Is your's the only computer that uses the ISP access?

If you have a router that support 3rd party firmwares (i.e. DD-WRT), then install it, and it will monitor your TOTAL Internet usage, taking into account all connected machines. If you install the bandwidth monitor only on your machine, then it won't take into account other machines/devices that may be connected to your router (i.e. Smartphones, consoles, etc.).

Also, make sure your router has a secure WPA-AES (NOT TKIP!) if you're using the Wif-Fi... Otherwise people can be leeching off of your connection!
