    Where can I find a copy of XP Home edition this isnt service pack 1 or 2, i have a laptop with a XP home COA and I tried both a copy of SP1 and SP2 and both times it wouldnt activate saying "wrong product key"

    The key on the bottom of the computer is for the OEM copy of XP Home, so it won't work with any retail copy. You can call Microsoft and activate that key.

    the copy i tried was xp home sp2 oem, and it wouldn't let me activate

    Yes the problem is, your XP is oem edition. Which will only allow you or your laptop manufacture to activate for only once.

    You will need to call Microsoft to activate iyour XP.

    Call MS, that is the ONLY way (unless you reinstall using the original OEM XP disk came with your notebook). Dial the number in the Activate Windows by phone window.
