I just got my new notebook, pretty pumped, and I've got a couple of questions about getting it up and running and keeping it up and running.

Will my notebook, see sig, come with a bunch of clutter on it and if so where can I go/what can I do to get rid of it?

Does anyone have any sugestions for good spyware/virus/etc. programs that are free or don't cost an arm and a leg?

Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

    P.S. Runs on Windows XP

One of the selling points of the Vostro is the lack of crapware. My Vostro 1400 came clean, very nice.

Thanks for the link. I was just curious, are a majority of these programs always running or can they be set up to run only when I ask them?

You can always scan when you want + you decide if you want the real-time protection to be enabled or not.
