When I start up my computer I get the following error message:

What is this? I'd really like to fix it because I'm running a brand new laptop.

Have you disabled some programs from the start up list?

You mean Adware? Well I did do scans with two programs yesterday so I doubt that.

Here's what could find on the BRS.exe:
    PowerDVD BlueRay Service – BRS.EXE

Brs.exe installs with newer versions of PowerDVD and PowerDVD Ultra by Cyberlink. This file is needed when you play BlueRay or HDVD High Definition DVDs with certain types of region encoding. If you never play BlueRay or HDVDs, you can get by without this file. You'll find more information and a handy FAQ at a href="http://www.cyberlink.com/english/cs/support/new_site/support_index.html"> http://www.cyberlink.com/english/cs/support/new_site/support_index.html.

Because this is a short and common name, it's possible that other programs may be using it.

The smart thing to do would have been to google MSVCR71.dll, which is the Visual C++ 7.1 runtime library. Then you would have found the file, placed it in your system32 folder, and have no more error.
