Hi all. I sent a PM to a poster who mentioned that NHC was dangerous and asked why he thought so. He said that messing with the fans can cause them to stop working properly, which would obviously overheat the mobo. I have two questions.

1: Is it safe to use NHC if I don't touch the fans section?
2: Is there any program that has all of NHC's functionality other than fan control?

    Thanks.

I don't think NHC does fans.

... Rmclock allows you to change cpu clock. NHC allows you to change, clock, voltage, HDD and battery settings, ACPI stuff like LCD brightness and fan, GPU settings... many more features. I just don't want to mess with the fan and kill the notebook.

I've used it on my laptops for as long as I've known about it without any problem. I never changed the fans though because they have always been quiet.

I've used NHC mostly for monitoring and creating power schemes. As long as you don`t mess with things you`re not sure of,it`s safe.

RMClock has a better management though in terms of power schemes. At least for me.

How does it have better power management if you can't control the gpu clock?
