    how can i auto mute my laptop when the lid is closed?

    Hmmm, I dont think there is anything built into Windows for it, you may need to find some program.

    Although....it does make sense...

    Hrmm, are there any programs out there like this? Would be nice, but I use my laptop as a musicbox when I'm in the library, so I just close the lid sometimes and listen to music or I just leave the screen open and turn on the milkdrop visualizations in winamp and put on a show for all the masses in the library. :D

    Thing is they think my laptop is a super computer or something. Too bad they all have the capabiliy to do this on their machines through winamp. hahaha

    You could set the 'When I close the lid...' property on the advanced tab of your 'Power Properties' to 'Standby'
