    Hello everybody,
the title says all, and slowly its getting me very, very annoyed...

Ok, now a decent detailed description:

I use Sonic Stage for my music (managing CDs is best for me in that, I also have a Sony MP3 player - anybody who suggests other software because he/she doesn't like Sonic Stage shouldn't bother posting - it'll only lead to an argument)

Now this is out of the way.

    What happened:
The "repeat single song" feature worked fine for me all the time, until I bought a Soundblaster X-Fi Go.
First it was erratic - and I think with a recent update it got worse...

I leave a song to play on repeat and rather than repeating it doesn't and stops after it played.

Now, this would be straightforeward a conflict if it happened every time, but here is the odd "thing".
Sometimes a song can play for ages before it terminates, sometimes it plays only once...

There is no pattern I noticed do far...
You can immagine how annoying it is, to find your music stopped playing every 5 minutes on occasions (if the song lasts 5 mintues that is)

If I leave it to play a whole album I believe it goes through at least once.
(I generally don't do this though)

Also, the Creative Media Source player seems to "loose contact" with my MP3 copys from my CDs if I try to use these - what happens is that the HDD stops spinning I think... again though, the problem is erratic and not systematic.

Would anybody be able to pinpoint the source - in a manner that avoids reinstalling the whole OS or using different players.

    Sonic Stage is version 4.3
My X-Fi Go runs Firmware 1.1.080613

Any input on this "issue" would be appreciated :)

In the hope of someone having a suggestion I just bump this thread once after ages.

(else I'm going to be stuck with being annoyed by this random problem)

. Have you confirmed that X-Fi Go is the issue? by removing it?

. What about the support site of the X-Fi Go? any hints there?

    cheers ...

I haven't confirmed it by removing the X-Fi Go - I just assumed its the issue because it happened since I use it, but I will try that.

Support site - no, I haven't tried it, I will make a note of that.

Thank you for your reply :)

    Update:
Problem does not occur with the Sigmatel HD drivers (built in Audio)

Creative Knowledgebase - can't find anything - but it may be I'm searching for it "wrongly"...

    I did.
No X-Fi Go - no problem.
X-Fi Go, but using Sigmatel HD Audio - problem
X-Fi Go, using Creative Drivers - problem...

Does it make any differences if you are running on battery or on power?

    cheers ...

    I don't know (yet).
The problems occur while running on AC power.

Let us back up one step.

. Have you updated your Sonic Stage/MP3 player?

. Wild guess - how about using another USB port or even another USB cable?

    cheers ...

Sonic Stage is on the latest version - 4.3 - its been there quite a while, also, the issue appears on other players.
    Another USB port...
    hmm...
I have used the X-Fi directly via the USB Port on the Vaio or via my USB Hub - same issue.
Another USB cable - I haven't tried that one yet...

(If I were to guess it ends with the X-Fi's driver - but how, why? Especially as it has alos been updated...)
