I'm going to get two 128 GB Samsung MLC drives (OS install) and then a 320 GB WD Scorpio for the optical drive connection, so three drives, and the two SSD's in RAID-0. It will appear to the computer as 'two' drives. Do I need to install Windows to my Scorpio (was planning to just use it for backup/images/pictures/music/storage) as well as my RAID-0 configuration?

Also, what if I decide to make a couple partitions on the RAID-0 configuration? Will this be possible on an SSD just as a HDD?

No you don't need to install windows twice.

BTW... if you're only going to use the hdd for storage, why not just mount the volume as a folder in windows.

The 2SSD and the HDD will appears as 1 drive.
You can mount your hdd to a folder in say "Storage" inside your "user" folder. You can redirect "my documents", "my music" etc to "Storage" folder.

Thank you for the response. This is what I thought, so then my next question is, what is with all the guides on desktopreview for parallel windows installations and stuff? Is it just for backup?

Could you post up a link to the "guides" that you're talking about?

OH god. I just had like 23 windows open reading them one-by-one, and of course I get the subscription email that there's a response to this thread and I just closed the window to it. I'm too lazy to refind it :( It basically talked about sticking windows on a second drive rather than formatting everything, so there were two working windows installations. Now that I think about it, I'm gonna' venture a guess it could be two different versions of Windows..

prolly dual-booting windows, easy method is to use second drive keeping both installations seperate.
