    Hello everyone I have a small problem that I would to solve.

    I use Mozilla Thunderbird with Ypops so that I can access my yahoo email accounts from thunderbird. However, every time I send an email using one of my accounts, in the "From:" field it says my name, even if I make sure the field is cleared when I compose my email in thunderbird. However when I send the email, my name still appears there, I have even tested it by sending an email to myself. What do I need to do so that my name never appears in the "From:" section?

    Hi,

    Is there a setting in Thunderbird that plugs your name into each email? Like in Outlook, there is a general setting that allows me to say I'm Mr ABC. Then it plugs Mr ABC into each email even though I do not enter a From: field name.

    well i know this is kinda old... but since there didn't seem a good answer...

    If i understood correctly you are looking for this:
    Tools -> Account Settings:
    click on the account's name like 'yahoo webmail' or whatever
    then the button 'Manage Identities' and then you can add a new identity which doesn't show your name or any name you'd like

    hope this helps...
