    Mouse driver issues

    I finally got my dv6000 running on windows XP, but there's one problem. when i plug in my generic a4 tech optical mouse i get the found new hardware wizard, but i get the error "there was a problem installing this hardware: HIDClass" and my mouse doesnt work. how can i remedy this problem? many thanks.

    yes this is a USB mouse and i have updated windows. shouldnt xp have a built in driver?

    not necessarily. u can try to manal install the device, using a standard mouse device within xp
