    Hello

My mouse is drving me "nuts".

When I open email, press the button to create a new email, as you know a window comes up to fill in your bits and pieces, email address, message etc etc which is fine, but if I move my mouse pointer away from that window, the window disappears down to the task bar.

Not sure if I have pressed a wrong button somewhere, please help if you can.

    Thanks

sounds more like a problem with the email program than with the mouse itself. try reinstalling your email client.

    Hello

It does it on other things aswell. If I now open say media player in a smaller window and move the cursor away from that window it does it. Yes if you click on something else that window would go, but I cannot understand this one.

    Thanks

    J

Hi, might sound so stupid but it might be the mouse itself. Trust me i had a mouse and i though it was the computer i though it was a virus at times it would move by itself (it started all by itself it was really old). Problem was the mouse because i bought a new one and it worked fine.

No that's not stupid, I know what you mean, but this happens when I use the touchpad on my lap top too.

There are two things I can think of right now that would be causing this.

    1. virus/trojan/malware of some sort
Are you using a good firewall, anti-virus, and anti-spyware program to protect yourself? Have you done any scans recently?

    2. Corrupt driver
Your mouse or pointing driver may have gotten corrupted somehow. Look on your laptop manufacturers website to update your touchpad driver and on the website of whatever brand your mouse is.

I'd try #1 first before messing with any drivers.

Tell us what kind of mouse and touch pad you have, and what kind of laptop. I have an HP dv5t Synaptics PS/2 built-in mouse and touch pad, and there are many, many detailed iterations you can adjust to solve almost any problem. (Ironic that I'm saying that, because I am having a mouse buttom problem of my own. See my thread in the HP section, "LEFT MOUSE BUTTON PROBLEM ON dv5t," posted today 12/31/08 at 7:42AM http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3&order=desc)
You may have similar kinds of adjustments that you can make iwith your mouse/touchpad software.
