Well, I just started using firefox and I want to know what I should be installing to get the most out of it.

-
my personal preferences:
- image zoom
- down them all
- IE tab
- reminder fox
- faster fox (though u probably would like to do this manually)
cheers ... -
Download Statusbar is a longtime favorite of mine
Searchbar Autosizer is surprisingly useful too.
Flashblock (*really* hate Flash ads)
PDF Download (I also really hate when the browser tries to open a PDF file instead of letting me download it)
IE Tab (Like said above)
FirefoxView (Opposite of IE Tab, and only useful when stupid programs insist on viewing a page in IE instead of launching your default browser)
Linkification (For sites made by morons who just list out an url instead of making a proper link) -
Adblock is a good tool for popups and ad on Firefox's popup blocker: perfect deterent. Also Fasterfox is helpful, but does take more memory than before. I use google toolbar, its has gmail tab and autofill and some other options the standard tool bars dont have.

One extension I just found about is GSpace. It allows you to treat your G-Mail account as a virtual drive, so you can transfer files to/from it. I believe the space limit is something like 2GB. Pretty handy feature.

Fasterfox - for obvious speed improvements
Adblock - will block every stupid annoying ad!
IE Tab - for those IE only sites
CustomizeGoogle - no more sponsored ads anywhere! Woo! Also removes tracking and other tweaks!
PDF Download - easier to d/l and read later
NoScrpit - to view pages without embedded links
Flashgot - links to my download manager so adds firefox support -
Image Zoom - allows image zoom with right mouse button + scroll
Disable Targets for Downloads - prevents blank windows from appearing when downloading
DictionarySearch - allows you to search for words on www.tfd.com and other dictionaries like www.urbandictionary.com by highlighting + right mouse button.
Copy Plain Text - adds "copy plain text" to right mouse button menu after highlighting a string.
NoScript - gives you the option to enable/disable the loading of scripts/applets
Adblock
IE Tab - view a webpage in ie
FasterFox - adds performance tweaks to the browser
Adblock Filterset.G Updater - add-on for adblock
MediaplayerConnectivity - opens external multimedia applications in a separate window for embedded movies and sounds.
Colorful Tabs - adds color to the tabs
Screen Grab - takes a screenshot in png format of an entire webpage.
VideoDownloader - downloads any embedded video from youtube, google, metacafe, etc.
LiveClick - RSS related
Feedview - RSS related -
greesemonkey - that with an additional script will allow you to download youtube content.

Adblock Plusis an absolute must.
All in One Gestures -Mouse gestures for all sorts of things. One thing Opera definitely did right. Should be built into FireFox.
ForecastFox Enhanced is great for checking the weather, radars, forecasts, temps, etc/
SessionSaver is very handy for saving your tabs on close and other things. Also I hear Tab Mix Plus is good for tab management.
IE Tab for those pesky coporate intranet pages that use activeX, and for some pages with Windows Media Player files that won't work right.
Download Manager Tweak for much nicer download management. -
Is there any plugins that convert a website's layout so that it is more compatible with my overly massive screen resolution?
QuickJava sounds like an excellent plug in by the way
Oh, and what is the differences between AdBlock and AdBlock Plus? -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
IE Tab
Download Them All
Tab Mix Plus
FasterFox
those are the basic ones I always use.
Most useful firefox plugins?
