Firefox randomly stopped working 2 weeks ago...some weird setting i checked off somewhere in my computer (not actually within firefox) After disabling some services, it works now. Makes me realize how much IE sucks! Seriously, if you haven't tried out firefox, do so now. It's so much more intuitive for so many reasons! Go Firefox!

my friend recently switched to Opera, he says it runs much cleaner and smaller. the WORST though is when the website is designed for EXPLORER ONLY. thats the absolute worst when they make me open up IE, ahh its so spare, so spare. anyways, go anything but IE!

Thanks, I will try Opera. I used to use IE religiously until I discovered Firefox...but you're right , almost everything's better than IE, it's really really really counter-intuitive. After using firefox also , I noticed that the buttons on the top toolbar of IE are so scrambled and unusable, it takes me so much longer to find the refresh and stop/home buttons. Arggg. Just glad I have firefox back!

I actually just downloaded Opera myself to give it a test spin. It seeme like an awesome browser although I haven't gotten acustomed to it, and I don't feel like leaving my beloved Firefox :D

I've been using mozilla suite/seamonkey since well since it came out long before firefox and I refuse to stop doing so. I recommend seamonkey even as just a browser.

I'm using Opera, it suits my needs fine and is VERY fast. However, FF is more customizable, and there's no arguing that.

I don't notice any difference between Opera and IE (in speed).
I stopped using FireFox months ago because it constantly crashed (I did try the lates version too). Even without all of my extensions and themes. I have Opera and IE7 right now, I prefer IE.

Don't like having to open up a seperate browser? There's a solution for you - IETab. It embeds IE in Firefox and let's you open an Internet Explorer only page in a new tab in Firefox without having to actually start up IE as a seperate application. Works well for me and is way more convenient.

Thanks for upping my post count Tim =P

Opera has something like IE Tab as well it just happens to be a bit more complicated to put on. Maybe they'll add that to one of the future versions..

Under Linux, I used Konqueror a LOT and I do mean A LOT.. It was the best browser I've ever had for a long time.. Of course it didn't work with the sites that required ActiveX.

When I switched my 600 Mhz Desktop back to Windows XP.. I went with FireFox for about a week and then switched to Opera since it was lighter and faster. I guess I got used to clicking the big "O" icon.. And in the computer lab at school I started using it.. And when I got my laptop, I didn't even think about using FireFox at all..

My sister was having freeze problems with Opera on some PHP Message boards with crazy long threads (like 100+ posts per page).. And so she started using FireFox..

I have had Opera crash, in fact last week.. Opera crashed about 4 or 5 times on the same website (JavaScript based).. FireFox didn't work so well with it either.. IE is the only browser that could load it up and have it look good.. The real problem with the site was the JavaScript code was WRONG.. The site was badly written and didn't conform to standards (I later verified this).
But Opera still shouldn't have crashed trying to load the site..

My sister uses FireFox.. But the rest of us use Opera (I went ahead and installed Opera on my parents computers and told them it was better.. They aren't very computer literate)..

On my 600 Mhz, I tried IE7 Beta 2 a couple weeks ago.. And the Tab Switching in IE7 Beta 2 IS SLOW!! DOG SLOW!! Like almost half a second to switch between tabs.. I was very disappointed with the new version of IE.

The ONLY thing I use IE for is launch.com My ISP is verizon and so I get 700 Kbit/sec streaming video of just about any American music video ever made within the past 10 years. (including lots of behind the scene stuff that are only available to launch subscribers)... [Free Launch.com subscription thanks to the Verizon/Yahoo partnership :D ]

I am a devoted Firefox user. The only thing that came close was Netscape which allows a user to toggle between the Firefox engine and IE.

FireFox is my first choice and I use IE if and only if firefox doesn't work but that happens very rarely.
