Edit: I forgot to say I have XP sp 2

No it is not that they are hidden -- they suddenly stopped being shown. In particular, the icon for the wireless internet connection. When I went to check the Task Bar And Start Menu from the Control Panel -- when I went to customize the notification area -- it showed thes icons as ones used in the past. But I could not see any way to make them used in "Present."

Anybody have any idea how to correct that? Does anyone have any idea how come they suddenly were taken off the "present" list for the notification? The wireless icon really mystifies me. It was on there earlier this evening ... and I was installing a new router and by the time I was done the icon was gone.

You may have it set to disappear when you connect to the internet.

Go to your Network Connections in Control Panel. Then right click the wireless connection then select properties. There should be options to check/uncheck at the bottom of that window.

Don't they show up again when you click on the icon for the app from your list of programs? You probably inadvertently just clicked something you shouldn't have (and who hasn't done that?) and missed the warning or question: Do you really want to do this? Are you absolutely sure? Really and truly you want to delete this item? :D

Good luck bringing them home. LOL
