I am unable to get to some Microsoft domains since last night. www.microsoft.com is unreachable as is www.msdn.com. But places like http://channel9.msdn.com/ are just fine.

Something odd is going on. At first I paniced and thought I had conflicker, which is known to block access to antivirus sites, but I could get to Symantec and AVG without issue.

Anyone else seeing anomalies with access to Microsoft domains? I've tried this on four different machines today.

Nevermind!!! This appears to be an ISP issue. I just connected via a local wireless hotspot that uses a different ISP from the other four machines I tried and I got right in.

Time for some phone calls to my ISP. Sorry for the false alarm.

UPDATE: I just talked to my ISP who initially told me it was "everyone" having trouble. But then I pointed out I'd been able to get in using a rival's hotspot and that I'd been in touch with other folks around the country and it was not an "everybody" issue. I implored him to let the senior techs know that it was not a widespread issue as that would possibly change their tactics on resolving this. We'll see what transpires. Again I am sorry for the false alarm.
