The last 3 days when I go to shutdown my DVD/CD drive I've been getting the message---- Mediahub.exe program not responding---- Then it says The instruction at "0x00a8636b" reference memory at "0x00a979b2" The memory could not be written--------- Runtime error Program...ommonFiles\SonicShared\SonicCentral\Main\Mediahub.exe
    R6025 - purevirtual function call.

Does anyone know what the problem is I looked at the IRQ's and didn't see any conflicts and everything seems to running fine except for the messages. It is the Sony DVD+RW/CD with Sonic Digital Media LE v7 Installed.

Back from the dead.... did you have any luck with this Reezin? I just started getting this message and reinstalling Sonic didn't help at all. Curious if you figured anything out.

Try seeing if there are any updates for Sonic.

Also, I got a similar error when shutting down earlier today. I inadvertently updated to WMP11 and I think that may have caused something to happen.

I also noticed it after upgrading to WMP11, I wonder if that's the common link. Another thing that I thought of was that maybe it was the result of deleting the backup partition that came on my HP Pavilion. It shifted the DVD burner to a different letter address, and I thought that maybe that played a part. I deleted the recovery partition and installed the new windows media player right around the same time, so I guess it could be either.

SVTWannabe: I like the Focus in your avatar, what do you have done to it? My best friend had a ZX3 hatchback for a while that he modified to no end. I forget the exact dyno numbers, but he got the car to put down more horsepower and considerably more torque than the SVT. Ran a 15.1 at 89.

I'm also getting the same thing when exiting Sonic. I, however, still have my recovery partition in tact, so it can't be that. I can't comment on upgrading to WMP11, as i hadn't used my Sonic software before that upgrade to WMP11.

Well, after doing some extensive Googling i found out that many people are having that problem, and that upgrading to WMP11 indeed seems to be causing this issue.

sonic has actually completely given up for me... the program doesn't work, and I'm going to have to reinstall my dvd burner drivers too because although the computer can read discs just fine, windows refuses to acknowledge there's a disc in the drive when i decide i want to copy something there... alternatives?

Roxio and Nero both seem to work fine with WMP11. So the 2 choices seem to be deleting the new version of media player or upgrading to a different buring suite.

What I did notice was that anytime I used Sonic to burn a DVD/CD seemed to want to cause Mediahub.exe not want to shut down. When I shut down, an error message box comes up saying Mediahub.exe is not responding.

I can confirm like others that it seems there's a general issue with this, and Sonic seems to be washing their hands in the matter. Whether the newest version of Easy CD/DVD Creator resolves this matter is another. In some ways, maybe this is some indirect way of forcing someone to use Windows software to make CD/DVD's?

I just uninstalled WMP11 and Mediahub isn't causing a problem anymore.

4cefed4: Thanks for the compliment on the car :) Nothing really done to it. Upgraded the exterior (HID's from Ford, SVT bumper), and suspension is now SVT as well. Essentially stock engine. The avatar is of me at my track event this past summer. Not bad for over 180,000 miles on her ;)

...... Man Oh Man .... Sonic Error Again.....
You know this shutdown Sonic DVD burner error with Mediahub.exe is common.
That exe file is like 2MB and it seems like a M$ -vs- Sonic conflict.
Oh Well .... at least you can close the program.
